MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from a law school accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education (USDE) with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Seven years full-time, wage-earning experience as a licensed attorney or in a legal clerkship with one year as legal counsel for a governmental agency.

Three years full-time, wage-earning experience in the supervision of employees.

Experience in administrative, contract, criminal, or labor/employment law preferred.

Experience as legal counsel in governmental preferred.

Must maintain a current active license to practice law in the State of Texas during employment with the Board of Pardons and Paroles (BPP) through the State Bar of Texas.

The salary for an ERS Retiree (or non-contributing member) may be reduced by 2.5%.
