Locations: Claremore, OK | Clinton, OK | Lawton, OK | OK City, Oklahoma | Pawnee, OKType:FederalSalary Range:Per YearOpen Period:1/18/2024 to 1/15/2025Summary:To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: 1. Professional registration or licensure-Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT)1, or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registration by means other than written test (e.g., State grandfather or eminence provisions) are eligible only for positions that are within or closely related to the specialty field of their registration. For example, an applicant who attains registration through a State Board's eminence provision as a manufacturing engineer typically would be rated eligible only for manufacturing engineering positions. 2. Written Test-Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional registration by an engineering licensure board in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico. 3. Specified academic courses-Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A. 4. Related curriculum-Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade and/or education as stated below for the grade level you are applying to. All qualifying education must be in engineering or a related field. GS-07: One year of specialized experience performing the following type of work: Utilize engineering principles, methods, and techniques; use energy conservation and computer maintenance management systems; and skill in design, cost estimating, and construction activities. OR Completion of a Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement.* OR Completion of at least one full year of graduate level education. OR Completion of a bachelor's degree AND 12 months of specialized work experience as a technician equivalent to the GS-5 grade level or higher. OR Completion of a 5-year program of study of at least 160 semester hours leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering. GS-09: One year of specialized experience performing the following type of work: Apply knowledge of construction standards and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines to design floor plans, elevations, walls, and perform site surveys; using computer systems and computer operations to write and communicate requirements to customers on projects requirements; preparing computerized drawings and reports; interpreting and using information from various sources. OR A Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree. OR A Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement* AND (1) year of appropriate professional experience. OR Completion of a 5-year program of study of at least 160 semester hours leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering AND one (1) year of professional specialized experience. OR A combination of graduate level education AND specialized experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements. Qualifying graduate education must be in excess of 18 semester hours. GS-11: One year of specialized experience performing the following type of work: Prepare and administer construction project designs and layouts, specifications and estimates; prepare original designs and preliminary/final layouts; directing surveys and investigations to establish baseline data necessary to initiate design, evaluate design objectives, perform technical calculations, and identify the most economical and efficient procedures; performing scheduling and layout of operations; inspection and surveillance of materials, methods, safety and equipment used in construction; and providing professional advice to peers, non-professional administrators, or managers. OR Completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. OR A combination of graduate level education AND specialized experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. Qualifying graduate education must be in excess of 36 semester hours.
