Job Title: General Foreman - 2nd Shift Reports To: General Manager FLSA Status: Salaried, Non-Exempt Supervisor Responsibilities: Yes - Team Leader Position Summary: The Foreman is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and supervising the work of their assigned department's hourly production associates, ensuring that all work is delivered safely while utilizing efficiency and maintaining quality. This position directs the production of an assigned process area and has key accountability in the areas of safety, quality, and quantity. The General Foreman 2nd Shift will manage the production activities of the plant's Grinding, Machine Shop, Assembly and Shipping Departments. Supervisor Responsibilities:
  • Trains and manages hourly production employees on the assigned shift and process area.
  • Oversees the daily workflow and assignments of direct reports.
  • Provides engagement and performance evaluation for direct reports.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Will provide production employees with guidance, direction, and supervision in support of departmental operations.
  • Maintain and organize product flow in department to include staging, job traveler management and schedule.
  • Perform daily Inspection of Departmental Process Equipment. Promptly address performance issues.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Will follow policies, procedures and business plan while coordinating work activities with other Supervisors.
  • Oversee departmental payroll such as checking and auditing timecards, making adjustments and recording attendance.
  • Supports inventory control and auditing for the assigned area as needed.
  • Perform safety meetings with department employees on a weekly basis.
  • Make sure all repairs are lined up with the Maintenance Manager in a timely manner.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Requirements:
  • Candidates are required to have a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience, preferably in an industrial production environment such as assembly, machining, fabrication, or foundry operation.
  • Must have excellent trouble shooting skills.
  • Strong time management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Qualifications:
  • 2 years' experience in a supervisory or managerial role, directing the daily work of others required.
  • AAS degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Management, or related field, preferrable. Consideration given to candidates with experience in lieu of education.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment preferred.
Job Type: Full-time - 8 Hour Shift. Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturday overtime may be assigned. Salary: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year base. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus. Benefits:
