POSITION SUMMARY: The General Foreman, Electrical will report directly to the Electrical Project Supervisor. This position is a field management position. The General Foreman, Electrical must be comfortable in a leadership role, and to lead crews of 10-20 employees. They are responsible for planning crews' tasks daily and planning three (3) weeks out to include material staging and communicating daily goals. General Foremen must posses thorough understanding of all facets of blueprint reading and details. This position also assists site leadership with daily tracking, planning, and communication of problems and issues in the field. The Foreman helps to institute a 'Safety First' culture for the field. This position is designated as a safety sensitive position.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for daily planning for direct reports
- Responsible for communicating daily production goals to crews
- Demonstrates the ability to create a detailed JSA and communicate with direct reports
- Monitor crew production throughout the workday to ensure everyone is staying safe, busy, and understands the specific task they are working on
- Responsible for daily time and production entries into tracking software
- Work with Project Supervisor to create 3 week look ahead
- Coordinate and communicate with other General Foremen and other trades to work through issues that can be resolved in the field.
- Responsible for material staging and planning for crews' daily task
- Coordinate and communicate any issues that can't be resolved at the field level to Electrical Project Supervisors
- Possess tools and competencies to perform any task in a safe and workmanlike manner
- Possess ability to train direct reports on any electrical scope of work on a PV site
- Comprehend and communicate company policies to electrical team
- Complete daily inspections as required by the Electrical Project Supervisor
- Troubleshoot and diagnose system issues, damage, and safety risks
- Institute a continuous improvement culture
- Help to execute a safety culture that has 100% engagement with the field team and practice core company values throughout projects.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Valid driver's license
- OSHA-30 certification (Preferred)
- Journeyman's License (Preferred)
- Experience in a leadership position in solar installations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wire diagrams and schematics, one lines, and details
- Ability to lay out and do take offs for material and hours for specific tasks
- Highly organized and thorough with daily paperwork required
- Full knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Experience working with a cloud-based construction management system (i.e., Procore, Office 365)
- Knowledge of project plans, specifications, and drawings
- Knowledge of construction principles/practices needed
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing equipment standards

- Must have the endurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard eight (8) or ten (10) hour day according to the schedule.
- Be on time and ready to work at the start of each standard shift.
- Must always wear personnel protective equipment. (i.e., Hard hats, safety glasses, safety harnesses, ear protection, fire retardant clothing, as required) and respirators when required.
