Fincantieri Marinette Marine, a Fincantieri Marine Group Company, is a progressive shipyard specializing in building ships for the United States Navy. We currently have an opportunity for a General Foreman at our Marinette, Wisconsin location.POSITION SUMMARYThis position may be responsible for leading, training and developing, a crew of approximately (20) skilled trade personnel in the fabrication, assembly and testing processes utilized during new ship construction and in alignment to contract specifications. The General Foreman additionally will have up to (6) Foremen assigned to them. They will be responsible for attaining Safety, Quality, Schedule and Cost objectives that ensure positive predictable results.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESResponsibilities include:Overall Safety, Cost Productivity and Schedule PerformanceBuilds trust and unit cohesion through, honesty, fairness and respect. A servant Leader to the crew and Foremen under themEvaluating skill sets and defines training needs necessary to grow the crew and Foremen competenceMaintaining strict discipline and adherence to Safety and Security policiesEnforcing all company policies and work rulesFollowing all company Work Instructions and (SOP) Standard Operation ProceduresDrives LEAN Manufacturing and 5S Principles to improve productivity and performanceDuties include:Assigning and monitoring work assignments of crew and Foreman, accessing physical progress on a daily basisChallenges the crew and Foremen daily, sets clear performance goals, objectives and expectationsClears obstacles that are effecting performance o Enters labor charges into payroll system dailyManages Work Orders and reports accurate progress to PlanningTakes ownership of parts and manages materials assigned to your Work OrdersMonitors and reports out on performance metrics to the Area Manager/DirectorsWorks with Planning in production control projects to move work to the appropriate SOCPlans overtime and schedules resources to supportCompletes Safety Observations weeklyUnderstands and works within, CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) works closely with the Foreman to assure uniform understandingResolve disputes, misunderstandings, enforces policy and disciplines as appropriateOr other duties, as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESCarries out all supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing the workforce; appraising performance, skill; rewarding and disciplining employees when appropriate, reversing unacceptable behaviors; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
