GENERAL SUMMARY:The General Labor - Harvest position plays a key role in ensuring the successful harvesting of the crops. This position is responsible for a variety of tasks associated with the Harvest department consisting of packing, stacking, loading, as well as preparing the necessary materials for the harvest of the baby leaf harvest. I. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for preparing materials to harvest baby leaf products which includes assembling totes/boxes on moving trailer, placing liners depending on customer requests and placing them on conveyor belt for packing.
- When packing, responsible for filling totes and/or boxes off a shaker belt and set it on the conveyor for loader.
- When loading, responsible for receiving boxes/totes filled with product and load them on pallet according to height instructions.
- Responsible for completing field inspections to ensure fields are free of foreign objects or materials prior to harvest.
- Responsible for weeding fields as necessary.
- Responsible for wearing required PPE at all times.
- Adhere to all employee company policies and food safety requirements.
- All other tasks as needed.
II. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Must have at least 3 months of experience working in Agriculture.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong work ethic.
- Must be 18 years of age.
III. PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
- Able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in severe weather conditions-both heat and cold.
- Must be able to work flexible schedule, day, evening, night.
