**Description**

**General Laborers** working within the Powder Coat Department are responsible for several tasks leading to proper order fulfillment and delivery of consistently high quality products to our customers. This role is responsible for appropriately selecting off the shelf components for a given job project, preparing the surfaces of steel and aluminum components for powdercoat, washing the parts prior to application of powder, and movement of materials and transport racks throughout the area.

**Job Duties:**

* Select and organize pre-fabricated parts from storage locatoins in prepartions for coating

* Degrease/clean part surfaces

* Utilize pneumatic sanders and hand sanding to prepare surfaces of parts prior to washing

* Organzie and place parts onto transport racks in prepariton for powder application

* Wash parts to remove residual contaminants prior to powder application

* Move transport racks throghout Powdercoat are to faciliate out-gassing of components, powder applicaton, and cure

* Keep the working area clean and orderly at all times

* Complany with all OSHA, EPA, lcoal regulatory laws, and company safety policies

* Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time

**Qualifications:**

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance

* Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of steel structures

* Mathematical skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing

* Participate and be active in your teams efforts to continuous improvement

* Ability to follow verbal instructions

**Physcial Requirements:**

* May stoop, bend, reach, walk; perform repetitive motions using hands to grasp, push, pull or do fine manipulations

* May stand or sit for prolonged periods of time

* Must have adequate sight to read blueprints, work orders, or other documents

* The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job

* Ability to lift medium to heavy weight up to 75 lbs.

* The employee is frequently exposed to fused or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration on the production floor
