Simpson Judge have partnered with a prestigious Insurance Defense Firm based in New York City, who are looking to expand their team and welcome a talented Associate Attorney to their General Liability department.

The role will be based out of the firms Manhattan office with hybrid working arrangements to welcome a work/life balance. Within the role you will be responsible for a caseload of varied General Liability matters including but not limited to General Liability, Labor Law, Construction Defects and Premises Liability.

The role will be challenging yet highly rewarding enabling you the opportunity to work on high value, complex matters among a team of dedicated professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of varied General Liability matters from inception to resolution
• Draft and respond to discovery, pleadings, briefs and motions
• Represent clients in Court
• Conducting and defending depositions
• Negotiate settlements
• Prepare bundles for trial with frequent trial attendance
• Achieve and maintain annual billable hours of 1950 hrs

Qualifications:

• Admitted to practice in New York, and ideally New Jersey
• 3+ Yrs experience in Insurance Defense
• Strong ability to self-manage a high volume caseload
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
• Detail orientated, with strong analytical skills
• Strong organisation with the ability to succeed in a fast paced environment
• Excellent time management with the ability to meet key deadlines
