Job Type Full-timeDescriptionWorking under the broad guidlines extablished by the Director of Engineering, the General Maintenance/Carpenter will:Maintain and repair buildings by providing carpentry, masonry, flooring, and painting to ensure an environment that is hazard free for patients, visitors, and staff and conducive to patient care. Inspect, test, and maintain the Life Safety features of the facilities. Inspect, test, and maintain assigned utility systems, equipment, and components to support the overall maintenance program of the organization. Accomplish small renovation, millwork, and construction projects in compliance with applicable building codes. Support the Engineering department team through cross-training and/or assisting others to provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff. Adhere to departmental and governmental safety standards and departmental and organizational personal appearance policies. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent5 years' carpentry or general maintenance experienceCommercial building construction experience ( preferred )Experience in a healthcare/healthcare-related setting (preferred) Certified Health Care Physical Environment Worker or ability to obtain within six months of hire.Certification in construction technology, carpentry or similar (preferred) Training in NFPA 101 (preferred) Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)Basic computer proficiency Carpentry, construction, and general maintenance skills including commercial construction, masonry, wall finishing, cabinet making, etc.
