Job Summary:Seeking a General Maintenance Technician II, to join our 1st shift manufacturing maintenance team in Lafayette, IN This position requires an understanding of mechanical & electrical maintenance concepts, a great attitude, and the willingness to learn technical skills in an industrial / manufacturing environment.This position assists higher level maintenance technicians in performing preventive maintenance on production related industrial systems, such as CNC machinery, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyor and coolant systems. May also work on a wide variety of facility related equipment, such as lighting systems, HVAC, pumps and motors, etc.Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: inspections, lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, and associated maintenance tasks. The Production Maintenance Technician will document and input all data on PMs and repairs into a CMMS.General Maintenance of equipment, and work station/project assembly will also be required. Responsibilities: Assists the team with planned preventive maintenance on production machines and equipment. Assists the team with planned preventive maintenance of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Conducts planned preventive maintenance inspections and perform required preventative maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, sump cleanout, etc. Performs planned preventive maintenance tasks scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing standard PPE daily and specialized PPE as required. Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, basic shop machinery, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work. Demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer. Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.Minimum Requirements:Minimum Requirements:High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.Two years of experience performing electrical and/or mechanical maintenance in a large commercial or industrial environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher. Additional Information: Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.This position may require a valid Drivers License.This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our clients location.This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.Physical Requirements:Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. Requires the ability to regularly climb, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift. Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift. Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift. Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.Requires the use of a Company/Client approved safety utility knife. Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement. Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.Special Requirements: Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, bump cap, hard hat, and other Personal Protective Equipment as standard safety equipment. Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.Preferred Qualifications:Preferred Qualifications:Associates degree or technical certification in industrial mechanical, HVAC/R, manufacturing technology, or a related technical program.Basic mechanical skills, sufficient to assist with and perform preventive maintenance and repairs to facility and production related mechanical equipment.Basic understanding of electricity. Experience with heating equipment properties, sufficient to assist with and perform preventive maintenance and repairs to HVAC equipment.Knowledge of basic refrigeration theory. Knowledge of EPA guidelines. Ability to work in a team environment. Experience safely utilizing a wide variety of hand and power tools. Basic computer skills for data entry, email, etc. Other Attributes: Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
