Job Description:

Saint Joseph's College of Maine is hiring for the position of a full-time General Maintenance Technician!

The GMT supports the department of Maintenance by providing a safe, clean, and well-maintained facility; managing maintenance work order workflow; and participating in the on-call program.

Essential Duties:

? Primary event support, including setting up and breaking down event furniture

? Carpentry, painting, and furniture moving/repairing

? Primary contact for roofing events

? Basic repairs and assistance to plumbers, carpenters, painters, HVAC technicians, electricians, and locksmiths

? Performing scheduled tasks as listed, but not limited to the following: cleaning and maintaining floors, shampoo carpets, sweeping walkways

? Identifying and reporting code issues, safety concerns, or issues of importance to the attention of immediate supervisor

? Removing waste from buildings and grounds and disposal of in its proper location

? Adhering to SJC standards for assigned uniform and acceptable attire

Education and Experience:

? High School education

Schedule Details:

? Full-time non-exempt position of 40 hours per week. Work schedule flexibility is required. This position is essential personnel and may be required to work weekends, holidays, and during college administrative closings. This position is part of the college snow removal team and is required to participate in a 24-hour, 7 days a week winter management & snow removal plan.

? Schedule flexibility is required to cover all college events, setups, and breakdowns. Work schedules will be modified to cover such events that may occur outside Department hours and/or over the weekend.

? Participate in the on-call program. On-call for one week periods and/or weekend periods on a rotating schedule
