POSITION SUMMARY:

As the General Manager for Courtyard Marriott, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel's operations to ensure an exceptional guest experience and smooth functioning of the property. Key responsibilities include managing staff training, facilitating inter-departmental communications, and developing staff schedules. The General Manager will foster an environment that guarantees customer and associate satisfaction. This role demands a keen attention to detail, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to effectively collaborate with department heads, guests, and team members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To excel in the role of a General Manager, one must demonstrate proficiency in a variety of essential duties and responsibilities. These key tasks are crucial for the smooth operation of the front desk and the overall guest experience.   • Budget and Financial Management: Develop and recommend the budget, labor cost plans, and objectives, managing within approved parameters.
  • Labor Management: Oversee labor management, ensuring efficient and effective staffing across all departments.
  • Payroll Management: Utilize the payroll system to review and approve time-off requests and timesheets accurately.
  • Guest Interaction Training: Train employees on the importance of guest interactions and how to courteously address guest requests.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain a consistent and thorough inspection program for quality assurance across all departments.
  • Safety and Security Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborate closely with all department heads to ensure seamless operations.
  • Vendor Relations: Work closely with vendors to secure favorable pricing, timely deliveries, and proper maintenance of supplies.
  • Staff Development: Provide teaching, supervision, and mentorship to a diverse staff.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA and ADA policies and regulations.
  • Optimal Staffing Levels: Maintain optimal staffing levels to achieve outstanding customer service goals.
  • Employee Coaching: Coach and counsel employees to meet and exceed Courtyard Marriott service standards and procedures.

Qualifications Requirements:

  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to engage positively with guests from a wide range of socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Experience: A minimum of three years of progressive experience in the hospitality industry, especially in guest services. Preference will be given to candidates familiar with the Marriott brand.
  • Guest Satisfaction Focus: A strong commitment to guest satisfaction is essential, along with excellent professional demeanor and presentation skills.
  • Customer-Centric Attitude: Must possess a customer-oriented mindset and refined professional presentation skills.
  • Key Strengths: High energy levels, a proactive attitude, and strong communication abilities are crucial. A proven track record of delivering outstanding customer service and a talent for enhancing operational efficiency are also highly valued.
