Mac Shack in Clifton is the newest addition to Keystone Bar & Grill, a privately held casual concept, based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Our growing restaurant brand is committed to providing a superior experience and the highest quality customer service for every guest. Mac Shack offers Keystones famous fresh, made-from-scratch mac & cheese.

**Scope & General Purpose**

The General Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations. This position oversees the Mac Shack crew members to ensure that the highest quality products and services are delivered to each customer. This position will combine industry knowledge and experience to produce an environment of positive energy for all employees. This position will also ensure compliance with company standards in all areas of operation, including product preparation and delivery, customer relations, inventory management, team management, hiring, termination and retention of team members, staff training and education, financial accountability, and other duties as required or assigned.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

Effectively manages the restaurant including administration of policies and guidelines of the company, ensuring 100% customer satisfaction at all times. Provides a friendly environment for customers, which includes greeting and acknowledging each guest, maintaining outstanding standards of operation, providing solid product knowledge and all other components of outstanding customer service.

Collaborates with all front-of-house management, and ownership, to ensure that the entire customer experience consistently exceeds the expectations of guests.

Maintains presence on the floor, ensuring fast, accurate service, positive guest relations, and products that are consistent with company quality standards.

Recruits, interviews, hires, trains and develops an extraordinary staff. Follows company policies and procedures for hiring and onboarding, in collaboration with owners and HR.

Communicates effectively with staff to motivate and maintain a positive and productive work environment.

Performs regular staff performance appraisals, identifying areas for development and training needs and ensuring that this training is implemented, in collaboration with HR. Leads or organizes regular training/coaching sessions to ensure that staff is performing their duties consistent with 4EG standards, and to help staff develop and grow in their career path with the company.

Participates in regular training and attains/maintains appropriate certifications.

Implements appropriate corrective action steps as needed. Makes termination decisions and follows company policies and procedures for implementation, in collaboration with management and HR.

Works with management team to implement goals and changes to policies and procedures with staff.

Schedules labor, monitors labor control, and ensures accuracy of time management and payroll by following company procedures.

Monitors sales performance and keeps staff motivated by providing and implementing staff incentive programs, and employee recognition.

Controls profit loss by following cash control/security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, reviewing financial reports, and taking appropriate actions.

Ensures quality and 100% customer satisfaction.

Evaluates products and collaborates with supply partners to ensure that quality standards are consistently attained through the acquisition of the highest quality ingredients and products with a focus on local and family owned businesses.

Ensures that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness and safety are maintained throughout all areas of the restaurant and grounds at all times. Ensures company safety and security policies, Occupational Safety Health Act, and local health and safety codes are met, in partnership and cooperation with inspectors. Follows and maintains a regular cleaning and maintenance schedule for all areas and equipment, as part of a preventative maintenance program.

Safeguards all employees by implementing training to increase their knowledge about safety, sanitation and accident prevention principles. Supports safe work habits and a safe working environment at all times.

Manages private parties by ensuring appropriate staffing, maintaining consistent floor presence, ensuring 100% satisfaction of beverage quality and complete customer satisfaction

Ensures complete and timely execution of company marketing programs.

Jumps in and does what needs to be done on the floor and leads by example at all times.

Other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

**Skills and Abilities Required**

Systems oriented

Proven inspired leadership experience with exceptional interpersonal communication skills, including training, coaching and development

Dynamic hospitality focus with customer-first attitude; team coach with emphasis on culture leadership and commitment to company standards of excellence

Effective communication and coaching skills to develop and motivate staff

Must be proactive and choose to make a positive impact on a daily basis

Must be focused on personal and professional growth through continued education and be willing to share learning with others

Ability to work well with supporting marketing and human resources staff and all management and owners

Experience in managing inventory

Experience in payroll process

Ability to conduct business with all levels of people, from guests to owners

Solid written and verbal communication skills

Work well under pressure and maintain fast, accurate service

Detail-oriented

**Computer Equipment and Software Requirements**

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

Proficient with POS systems

Proficient with time management / payroll systems

Mac OS X knowledge is helpful

Basic computer skills required

Knowledge of, or ability to learn, latest computer technology (Apple Computer) and maintain working connection with all of companys programs and systems (e.g. Aloha, Office 365, etc.). Compliance with company technology requirements is a must.

**Education and Experience Required**

Bachelors Degree in hospitality management, business, or other related area preferred

Minimum 1-3 years experience in restaurant / bar management or equivalent field

Background in managing, bartending and/or serving in a bar and/or restaurant

Industry certifications preferred (ServSafe, Person-in-Charge, etc.)
