Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead a full-service hotel in Iowa. This key leadership position requires a highly motivated individual with a passion for excellence in guest service, a strong operational background, and expertise in managing all aspects of hotel operations, including Food & Beverage (F&B). Previous experience in managing lifestyle brands will be a significant advantage. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily hotel operations, enhancing the guest experience, and driving revenue growth while maintaining cost control and achieving performance targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all hotel operations including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, and Sales to ensure efficient and effective functioning.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the guest experience, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of department heads and associates to meet hotel goals and exceed performance expectations.
- Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for all departments, particularly F&B.
- Maintain strong relationships with guests, employees, and vendors to enhance hotel performance and ensure consistent service standards.
- Monitor key performance metrics (KPIs) and analyze financial results to adjust strategies for improved profitability.
- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop and implement effective marketing strategies and sales initiatives to drive business growth.
- Ensure compliance with all brand standards, safety protocols, and regulations.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, guest focus, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with ownership and corporate leadership on key decisions impacting the property's growth and direction.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a General Manager in a full-service hotel, with a strong track record of success in driving operational excellence and guest satisfaction.
- Extensive experience in Food & Beverage operations, including menu planning, vendor management, and cost control.
- Experience with lifestyle hotel brands is a plus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
- Proven ability to develop and implement financial strategies and meet budget goals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to operations.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Exceptional guest service orientation with a passion for hospitality.
- Strong knowledge of hotel management systems and technology.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
