Why does the job exist?The General Manager I/DHI Deputy Director will:
  • Oversee the following Bureaus within the Division of Health Improvement: Licensed Oversight Bureau (LOB), District Operations Bureau (DOB) and Program Operations Bureau (POB).
  • Represent the Division Director in a variety of task forces, committees and various other activities related to inter/intra Departmental planning and collaboration.
How does it get done?The General Manager I/DHI Deputy Director is responsible for:
  • Participating in the development of division initiatives and will serve as an active liaison between the division and internal Divisions and external State Departments;
  • Overseeing and managing the following bureaus within the Division of Health Improvement: Licensed Oversight Bureau (LOB), District Operations Bureau (DOB) and Program Operations Bureau (POB);
  • Providing guidance & support;
  • Promoting development of the Bureau Chiefs & managers across the three Bureaus.

  • This position serves in a leadership role for the 90+ employees in DOB, LOB and POB
  • External customers/individuals served in healthcare facilities.

Minimum QualificationA Master's degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of professional level experience with a strategic impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling fourteen (14) years may substitute for the required education and experience. A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include management and/or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements. Employment RequirementsMust possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must Possess and maintain a current Defensive driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Working ConditionsWork is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
