Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee a food manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in profit and loss (P&L) management, extensive experience in the food manufacturing industry, and proven leadership skills to manage a plant of 300 employees through periods of change. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to all plant operations.
- Oversee the daily operations of the plant, ensuring efficient and effective production.
- Manage and mentor a diverse team of 300 employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Lead the plant through periods of change, implementing strategies to adapt to evolving market conditions and organizational goals.
- Develop and manage the plant's budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Monitor and analyze P&L statements to identify areas for cost reduction and improved financial performance.
- Implement financial controls and reporting systems to ensure accurate financial tracking.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and quality regulations and standards.
- Implement and maintain best practices in manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and reduce waste.
- Develop and execute change management strategies to support the plant's growth and transformation initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with employees about changes and provide support to ensure smooth transitions.
- Address and resolve any resistance to change, fostering a culture of adaptability and resilience.
- Collaborate with senior management to align plant operations with overall company objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies.
- Represent the plant in meetings and presentations, providing updates on performance and strategic initiatives.
Job Requirements - Bachelor's degree preferred; a degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior management role within the food manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of managing a large-scale manufacturing plant.
- Strong background in P&L management, with demonstrated success in financial planning and analysis.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead through change and drive continuous improvement.
