**Position Details**
Fort Worth, TX Full Time - Ability to work some nights, weekends and holidays The General Manager (GM) contributes to Backwoods' success by operating and being responsible for the overall store management at our Flagship store in Fort Worth, TX.. The GM is able to enhance customer service and satisfaction, meet sales and profitability goals, and be effective by coaching, mentoring and managing sales associates. The GM has retail management skills with a detail oriented mindset, is skilled at organizing and problem solving, and has well developed interpersonal and mediation skills. The GM acts as a liaison between corporate employees, store associates, and customers.

* Develop community relationships with personal and social media interaction, events participation, charity involvement, clinic and seminar development/execution, and other creative means as needed.
* Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service
* Maintain outstanding store conditions and visual merchandising standards
* Evaluate associate performance and identify hiring and training needs
* Monitor operating costs, budgets and resources
* Tech savvy with strong skills relating to social media, and web content SAAS productivity tools (Slack, Asana, etc)
* Highly proficient in Excel and Google Sheets
* Confident in dealing with associate and customer complaint resolution
* Propose innovative ideas to increase market share, reduce costs and enhance the customer shopping experience
* Maintain inventory and display integrity by monitoring item quantities, accurately shipping and receiving freight, stocking items to fixtures, and managing backstock
* Help with asset protection including enforcing security measures and prioritizing shrink reduction
* Help with additional duties as needed
**Successful General Managers have this in common:**
* Proven experience in retail management or similar position
* First consideration will be given to experienced managerial candidates who have demonstrable outdoor hiking, trekking, and camping experience, and understand the gear associated with those activities. Even more consideration will be given to those who also have demonstrable fly fishing experience and understand the gear associated with that activity.
* Superior communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organizational, technological and operational skills
* Strong customer service skills
* A college Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience
