Overview:

Society Hill Hotel is seeking an experienced General Manager with a strong background in restaurant management to lead our team through the next phase of growth. The GM will oversee the daily operations of our restaurant, bar, and boutique hotel, ensuring a world-class experience for all guests. The ideal candidate is a hospitality professional with extensive experience managing high-performing restaurants and bars, capable of collaborating with the Executive Chef and Lead Bartender to continuously elevate our food and beverage offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Front of House (FOH) & Restaurant/Bar Operations:

  • Lead FOH operations for the restaurant and bar, ensuring seamless service and an inviting atmosphere for all guests.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and manage the FOH team, fostering a culture of excellence and hospitality.
  • Monitor service standards, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Lead Bartender to curate menus and beverage offerings that align with our vision of providing a 5-star dining experience.
  • Oversee all restaurant and bar-related logistics, including inventory management, staffing, and vendor relationships.

2. Collaboration with Culinary & Beverage Teams:

  • Work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure the menu evolves with guest preferences and seasonal ingredients, maintaining the highest culinary standards.
  • Partner with the Lead Bartender to create innovative and exciting cocktail and beverage programs that complement the food menu.
  • Ensure the restaurant and bar deliver consistent, top-tier experiences by balancing menu creativity with operational efficiency.

3. Business Development & Guest Experience:

  • Capture existing demand and identify new opportunities for growth through strategic partnerships, private events, and entertainment.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the floor to interact with guests, ensuring personalized service and memorable dining experiences.
  • Ensure that the quality of guest interactions—whether at the bar, in the restaurant, or during a hotel stay—is consistently of the highest standard.

4. Financial & Operational Management:

  • Manage payroll, tips, and reporting processes for the restaurant, bar, and hotel.
  • Control labor costs and manage COGS (cost of goods sold) for the FOH, bar, and restaurant operations, working closely with the Executive Chef to manage food-related expenses.
  • Collaborate with the accounting/bookkeeping team to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting.

5. Housekeeping & Hotel Operations:

  • Oversee housekeeping and guest services for the boutique hotel to ensure cleanliness and top-notch guest satisfaction.
  • Manage guest relations, including reservations, check-ins, and special requests, while ensuring a warm, welcoming environment for hotel guests.

6. Team Leadership & Culture:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a service-driven team, ensuring alignment with Society Hill Hotel's values of hospitality and excellence.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss performance, goals, and service standards.

7. Marketing & Event Strategy:

  • Work with ownership to develop and execute marketing strategies that drive traffic to the restaurant and bar.
  • Lead the planning and execution of events, including private dinners, parties, and local partnerships, to create new revenue streams and enhance the hotel's profile.

Qualifications:

  • Significant experience as a General Manager or Restaurant Manager in a high-end or boutique restaurant environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a focus on FOH and culinary collaboration.
  • Expertise in managing restaurant and bar operations, including hiring, training, and inventory management.
  • Financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, labor costs, and COGS.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a passion for delivering 5-star guest experiences.
  • Familiarity with restaurant POS systems and reservation management software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with guests, vendors, and staff.

  • Competitive salary range of $60,000-$90,000 based on experience (combination of base salary and performance bonus).
