We are looking for a proactive and results-driven General Manager to lead and optimize the performance of our practice locations, drive metrics, and support the continued growth of our unique specialties.

Position Overview: The General Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our practice locations, driving operational efficiency, and supporting a positive workplace culture. This individual will be responsible for tracking and analyzing key performance metrics, while also ensuring that our specialized services, such as the Dry Eye Clinic and Gentle Molding, are marketed effectively and managed to the highest standard. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in management, healthcare, or retail, and will be able to effectively lead and support teams to achieve business goals while ensuring top-tier patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management:
    • Directly manage and support office staff.
    • Create a positive and motivated work environment by fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and growth.
    • Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Oversee daily operations, ensuring that each location is operating efficiently and effectively.
    • Implement best practices to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
    • Monitor and manage inventory, supply chain, and vendor relationships.
  • Patient Experience & Specialty Services:
    • Establish and maintain high standards for patient care and service.
    • Drive awareness and success of our specialized services, including the Dry Eye Clinic and Gentle Molding treatments.
    • Develop strategies to promote these unique offerings, ensuring that they continue to differentiate our practice in the market.
    • Address patient concerns and feedback promptly, ensuring a seamless patient journey across all locations.
  • Business Development & Strategy:
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic plans to grow patient volume and expand services.
    • Analyze performance metrics and financial reports to identify areas for improvement and growth, with a focus on enhancing specialty service lines.
  • Compliance & Quality Control:
    • Ensure all locations adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and HIPAA guidelines.
    • Implement quality assurance measures and compliance standards to maintain the highest level of patient safety and service integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a management or leadership role, ideally in eyecare, retail, or service industries.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams across multiple locations.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a focus on operational efficiency.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with staff, patients, and external partners.
  • Knowledge of the optometry field or healthcare industry is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with specialized optometry services, such as Dry Eye treatments or Gentle Molding, is a plus.
  • Ability to track and drive metrics, including patient acquisition and retention, revenue growth, and service line performance.
  • Willingness to travel between office locations within the Northern Virginia region as required.
