Our client is the premier provider of global solutions for naval equipment qualification testing. Their Virginia facility, is the only commercial site in the United States that offers extensive shock testing capabilities for ground, avionics, and space applications. With a dedicated team and state-of-the-art facilities, we ensure that the United States Navy receives the safest and most combat-effective equipment.They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead their VA Division. As the General Manager, you will be the Chief Operator (CO) responsible for overseeing all aspects of the facility, including tests, equipment, personnel, and revenue. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of shock testing services.Key responsibilities:- Manage and lead a team of 20 personnel, including engineers, technicians, and support staff- Oversee the facility's operations, ensuring adherence to safety and standard operating procedures- Responsible for the profit and loss (P&L) with a budget ranging from five to six million dollars- Direct and coordinate shock testing processes for Navy equipment qualification, including MIL-DTL and MIL-STD-167 full test capabilities- Enforce rigorous quality control measures and make necessary adjustments to ensure accurate and reliable test results- Act as the primary point of contact for Navy clients, maintaining strong relationships and addressing their needs effectivelyQualifications:- A bachelor's degree in engineering, business Management, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred- Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably as a General Manager in a testing or engineering facility- Strong understanding of shock testing procedures, MIL-STDs, and Navy equipment qualification requirements- Demonstrated ability to manage a significant budget, with experience in financial analysis and reporting- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.If you are a results-driven leader with a passion for ensuring the safety and effectiveness of Navy equipment, they invite you to apply for this challenging and rewarding position.
