Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee a food manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in profit and loss (P&L) management, extensive experience in the food manufacturing industry, and proven leadership skills to manage a plant of 300 employees through periods of change.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and direction to all plant operations.
Oversee the daily operations of the plant, ensuring efficient and effective production.
Manage and mentor a diverse team of 300 employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Lead the plant through periods of change, implementing strategies to adapt to evolving market conditions and organizational goals.
Develop and manage the plants budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
Monitor and analyze P&L statements to identify areas for cost reduction and improved financial performance.
Implement financial controls and reporting systems to ensure accurate financial tracking.
Ensure compliance with all food safety and quality regulations and standards.
Implement and maintain best practices in manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and reduce waste.
Develop and execute change management strategies to support the plants growth and transformation initiatives.
Communicate effectively with employees about changes and provide support to ensure smooth transitions.
Address and resolve any resistance to change, fostering a culture of adaptability and resilience.
Collaborate with senior management to align plant operations with overall company objectives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies.
Represent the plant in meetings and presentations, providing updates on performance and strategic initiatives.
Job Requirements
Bachelors degree preferred; a degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior management role within the food manufacturing industry.
Proven track record of managing a large-scale manufacturing plant.
Strong background in P&L management, with demonstrated success in financial planning and analysis.
Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead through change and drive continuous improvement.
