Dometic has won numerous NMMA Innovation Awards over the years and we are always striving for new ways to make boating easier, safer, and more enjoyable.Dometic Marine's facility in Litchfield, IL is our main distribution center that manages the packaging and distribution of aftermarket marine and OPE industrial products. As General Manager of the Litchfield team you will be responsible for the operational and financial performance of the Litchfield facility where client needs can be complex and time sensitive. We are a journey of continuous growth - now looking for our next star - a passionate General Manager. This position reports to Vice President, Aftermarket and will work in Litchfield, IL.General Responsibilities
  • Increase management's effectiveness by communicating values, strategies, and objectives.
  • Set companywide objectives, assign accountabilities, plan, monitor, and evaluate performance while tracking results.
  • Develop a strategic plan by studying technological and financial opportunities, presenting assumptions, and recommending objectives.
  • Accomplish objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and results, allocate resources, review progress, and make mid-course corrections.
  • Present at Weekly Ops call with divisional weekly soft close reviewing sales, variances, margins, profit, AR, AP, inventory, and headcount. Present actions when missing plan.
  • Monitor the operating and financial results against plans and budgets with staff and Group Management monthly via the commercial reporting package. (CRP)
  • Implement contingencies and report up when objectives are not being met.
  • Develop strategic operating plans that reflect the longer-term objectives and priorities.
  • Coordinate efforts by establishing procurement, production, marketing, field and technical services policies and practices.
  • Ensure Operations functions, and execute its tasks within defined quality, safety, environmental, and social responsibilities, and accountabilities.
  • Drive accountability for operating objectives and ensure standards of performance are not only understood but owned by management and all employees.
  • Build the company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees, enforcing ethical business practices.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and collaborating Dometic Marine facilities.
  • Maintain quality services by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.

RequirementsSKILLS & REQUIREMENTSThe ideal candidate for this role will bring demonstrated success in (operational/engineering/manufacturing/etc.) environment. Additionally, they will have acquired the following qualifications and experiences:
  • An degree in Engineering, Operations or Finance is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in the field of manufacturing/packaging, in a management role preferable
  • A Minimum 3 years' experience in a management position with P&L responsibilities.
  • Experience implementing and improving plant safety (EHS)
  • Experience in the development of annual and long-range operational plans, and budget management are necessary.
  • Must have strong financial and operational acumen.

  • Strong communication, relationship building and influencing skills. Develops credibility and trust with the senior Executive team and can work/interact effectively with individuals throughout the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work well independently and lead a strong team.
