Overview:
Bay Colony Search has partnered with a manufacturer to hire a General Manager in the Oxford area. This is a smaller plant with the potential to scale by implementing improved processes and procedures to increase efficiency and productivity and you will also spend time with customers to ensure they are satisfied with the value and the service they receive. You should be a solutions-oriented leader who has previous experience running a plant and gets excited to make improvements and make your mark. You will report to the management team at corporate HQ in MA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee & manage the plant to ensure production efficiency, quality, customer service, and cost-effective management of resources
- Establish process and metrics to monitor performance against key success factors (e.g. on time delivery, productivity, labor standards, quality, waste / scrap, cost). Develop and implement actions to address any deviation from target
- Partner with customers to discuss and establish scheduling timelines for product delivery
- Direct and mentor all employees to accomplish goals of the operations plan, consistent with established operations procedures and processes
- Review activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions
- Evaluate performance of existing employees and determine who will be able to scale with the company and hire and train others as necessary
- Work with an extremely motivated and driven remote management team (based in MA) to draft, develop, monitor, and achieve annual, quarterly, and monthly corporate goals
- Present company initiatives and performance against plans at regular intervals
Qualifications:
- A proven history of leveraging the skills and knowledge developed in previous experiences and applying them in a way that brings leading edge, and best in class approaches, to smaller less resourced environments
- Deep understanding and appreciation for processes like S&OP, Annual Business Planning, and Business Review
- Track record of results; financial, operational, business development, execution, and team development
- 10+ years' work experience, 5+ as senior level Operations Manager/GM in a manufacturing/industrial facility
- Hands on and willing to roll up your sleeves and get involved in day-to-day solutions
- Desire to lead a plant that is small today, but you will grow it in terms of volume, revenue, and people
- Personality and outlook where you get excited about changes that can be made. Some of those suggestions may come from HQ and others may come from the employees at your plant but you must embrace both and determine if they will help the company
