Job DescriptionAdditional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Hospitality Management Corporation. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel's employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc. We are currently searching for a General Manager for the Rochester Airport Marriott in Rochester, NY. •Approach all encounters with guests and associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner •Manage with honest and integrity in all that you do •Maintain regular attendance in compliance with company standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel •Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper business attire and name tag when working (per brand standards) •Comply at all times with company standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations •Comply with Marriott requirements for position •Maintain a professional and cohesive team by hiring, training, coaching, counseling and developing the most qualified staff •Establish ongoing training in all departments for continuous improvements •Ensure ongoing safety and security of property, associates and guests •Ensure that associates are at all times attentive, friendly, courteous and helpful to guests, all other associates and managers •Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, associates and other departments •Champions Marriott's service vision and delivery by driving guest and associate satisfaction •Foster associate commitments to providing excellent service, participates in pre-shift daily stand-up meetings and models desired service behaviors in all interactions with guests and associates •Incorporate guest satisfaction as a component of staff/operations meetings with an emphasis on generating innovative ways to continually improve results for the departments •Sets goals and expectations for direct reports using the performance review process and holds staff accountable for successful performance •Possess drive to create a fun, rewarding and professional work environment •Lead by example demonstrating self-confidence, energy and enthusiasm •Flexibility in schedule, ability and willingness to work weekends, weeknights and holidays as needed •Perform any other duties as requested Job Requirements: •At least 5 years of progressive experience at the GM or AGM level required •Two or four year college degree preferred •Supervisory experience required •High School diploma or equivalent required •Stable work history required •Strong understand of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) required •Need to be a team player - if you like to work on an island by yourself, this won't be a good fit for you! •Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly •Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure •Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary •Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying and resolving the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests •Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance The salary range for this position is $110,000.00 to $130,000.00 annually.
