Position Overview:Guse Hahn Garage Doors, a trusted name in Southwest Michigan since 1943, is looking for a skilled and motivated General Manager to lead our team, drive operational efficiency, and grow our business. This role is ideal for an experienced manager with a background in trades, construction, or a related service industry, who understands the importance of creating and maintaining effective processes. As General Manager, you'll guide daily operations, develop streamlined processes, and work alongside our skilled tradespeople to optimize both team performance and customer satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:Operational Leadership & Process Management:Oversee all location operations, ensuring teams are well-equipped and projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.Design, implement, and maintain efficient processes for inventory management, job scheduling, and equipment upkeep, reducing downtime and optimizing productivity.Continuously assess and refine processes to adapt to changing demands, working to enhance both operational efficiency and service quality.Manage budgets, aligning inventory costs with job needs to maintain profitability without compromising service standards.Team Leadership & Development:Lead and support a team of technicians, support staff, and schedulers, fostering a positive work environment that values each member's contributions.Provide training, coaching, and constructive feedback to team members, supporting skill development, safety, and accountability.Act as the primary problem solver for the team, addressing issues and field changes promptly to keep operations on track.Sales, Networking & Business Development:Build and maintain strong relationships with local contractors, property managers, and clients, generating new business and expanding opportunities.Actively represent Guse Hahn Garage Doors at community events and trade shows, enhancing brand visibility and fostering connections.Identify new growth opportunities, such as expanding service offerings or developing partnerships that align with our quality commitment.Customer Service & Relationship Management:Ensure exceptional customer service, handling escalated concerns and overseeing project timelines to maintain our reputation for reliability and quality.Develop lasting client relationships, emphasizing our commitment to excellence and reliability to drive repeat business.Oversee scheduling to ensure efficient coordination of installs, repairs, and service calls, balancing the needs of both the team and customers.Safety & Compliance:Maintain a safe and organized workplace, conducting regular safety meetings and training sessions to ensure adherence to safety standards.Keep up-to-date with industry safety regulations and implement necessary measures to ensure compliance in all operations.Performance Metrics & Continuous Improvement:Track key performance indicators and analyze location performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.Collaborate with senior management to set performance goals, provide insights, and contribute to continuous process improvements and team growth.Qualifications:Experience: 5+ years in a management role within trades, construction, or a service-based industry. Hands-on experience with process creation, implementation, and management is highly valued.Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, scheduling software, and accounting tools like QuickBooks. Strong communicator and adaptable problem solver.Sales & Networking: Skilled in building relationships, engaging with clients, contractors, and local businesses.
