Job Description:

Overview:

The General Manager will lead and support all activities pertaining to technical services, body shop repairs, car wash, distribution, accessories, and overall Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) operations. In this role, the main responsibility will be to ensure VPC profitability, safety, quality, cost efficiency standards and business plan metrics are met.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL DO

* Provide leadership, strategy and direction to the VPC team.

* Take part in cross - functional teams for root cause investigation & KAIZEN projects.

* Create and manage healthy, effective relationships with key stakeholders.

* Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and lean management.

* Embrace a high regard for a culture of safety, quality, and efficiency, leading and serving as a role model, and ensure required programs are implemented to monitor compliance with applicable federal, state, local safety codes and Wallenius Wilhelmsen's Way of Working and Safety 1st

* Develop and drive business plans, identify and eliminated inefficiency & waste.

* Accountable for all VPC revenue & spending.

* Ensure achievement of all internal and external Key Performance Indicators / OKRs.

* Identify and implement cost reduction activities

* Plan, organize and direct VPC activities

* Promote lean management principles (2WMS) and reinforce management system disciplines.

* Development of the operations leadership team.

* Lead by example.

* Drive and maintain compliance with all EHS and ISO requirements.

* Manage labor planning and relations.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

* 5-7 years' experience leading, developing and mentoring staff with an emphasis on site operations.

* 3+ years managing profit and loss (P&L)

* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage change.

* Self-starter with the ability to perform in high pressure and dynamic situations

* Strong people leadership skills

* Ability to multi-task.

* Must be creative and innovative.

* Must be proactive and work cross-functionally.

* Proven management skills and experience in employee relations.

* Excellent interpersonal skills.

* High proficiency in use of Microsoft 365; Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams.

* Must possess valid driver's license.

* Ability to work weekends & any shift.

* Ability to travel.

EVEN BETTER IF YOU HAVE:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education or experience.

* Proficiency in the use of Workday

* Understanding of OSHA.
