Job Overview: The General Manager of Truck Operations will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the efficiency of our truck insurance operations. This role is pivotal in developing strategic initiatives that align with our company's objectives to provide top-tier service to our trucking clients. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the trucking industry, insurance products specific to trucking, and a proven track record in leadership within operations or related fields.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to improve operational efficiency and profitability within the truck operations division.
  • Identify and lead initiatives that enhance service delivery, client satisfaction, and operational scalability.
Operational Management:
  • Oversee daily operations of the truck insurance division, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Manage fleet safety protocols, compliance with DOT regulations, and risk management strategies.
Team Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of professionals in underwriting, claims, and customer service.
  • Foster a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and professional development
  • Oversee sales team and coach them to help them achieve personal and company goals
Financial Oversight:
  • Manage the division's budget, forecasting, and financial performance.
  • Work closely with accounting to ensure accurate reporting and profitability analysis.
Client Engagement:
  • Enhance client relationships through strategic account management and problem resolution.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and through media engagements to promote our services.
Product Development:
  • Collaborate with product development teams to tailor insurance products that meet the evolving needs of the trucking industry.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, competitor strategies, and technological advancements affecting the insurance landscape for commercial vehicles.
  • Assist in the managing of relationships with insurance companies, ensuring we are satisfying their submission and binding goals
Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure all operations adhere to state and federal regulations, including safety and environmental standards.
  • Develop and maintain risk management programs to minimize losses and enhance safety.
Qualifications:Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field.
  • MBA or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years in the trucking or insurance industry with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale operations, particularly within insurance or transportation sectors.
Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Superior communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in financial modeling and budgeting.
Certifications:
  • Certification in Risk Management (CRM) or similar would be advantageous.
  • P&C licensing and or TRS designation preferred.

Work Environment:
