General Manager - Polynesian Hotel, Ocean Plaza Motel, Viking Motel Work Location: 1001 S. Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577
Job description - The person in this position reports directly to the Corporate Accounting Controllerand is responsible for establishing and managing the Hotel daily operations.This involves coordinating the activities of the Front Desk, Engineering andHousekeeping departments. Works withdepartment heads to ensure that all guest needs and concerns are properlyaddressed. Participate in business planning and review activities to ensure thefinancial wellbeing of the Property.
Job responsibilitiesinclude but are not limited to - - Provide leadership to all departments byreviewing schedules and trainings
- Support hiring work flows among alldepartments
- Ensure adherence to hotel policy fromemployees as well as guests
- Resolve front desk discrepancies; financial,reservations, etc.
- Schedule/host periodic staff meetings
- Work with guests to resolve problems bysuggesting and applying mutually agreeable solutions
- Develop last minute booking rates for walk-inguests
- Work with all departments to ensure guestsrequest are met in a timely and proficient manner
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests accordingto company standards; anticipate and address guest service needs
- Follow all company safety and securitypolicies and procedures; report any maintenance problems/safety hazards
Requirements - - Previous experience in a similar role required
- Proficient in Excel
- Available to work a flexible scheduleincluding weekends and holidays
- Working knowledge of financials and accounting
- Proficiency with computers and general officePC applications (email, POS system, etc)
- Valid Driver's License
