Job Description:
General Managers are responsible and accountable for the operation of the store by ensuring maximum sales and profitability through effective merchandising, human resources management, team development, inventory management, operating costs, and managing loss control. General Managers are responsible for high customer service levels.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for overall management of the storeResponsible and accountable for the management of all employees and their developmentRecruit, hire, train, motivate, develop, discipline, and terminate employees using appropriate documentation (i.e. new hire packets, reference checks, communication forms, etc.) and approval processSchedule, monitor & be accountable for controlling payroll hoursAudit and complete required daily paperwork and submit by deadlineResponsible to make daily bank deposits by deadlinesResponsible for handling employee and customer complaints and grievancesMaintain Grand Open Ready standardsMaintain high levels of cleanliness and sanitation of the interior and exterior of facilities according to Company and brand requirementsEnsures store is secure and safe and complies with all safety and environmental guidelines. Reports issues to proper authority and management when necessaryResponsible for controlling flow and distribution of all merchandising supplies, including product ordering, receiving merchandise, and vendor relationsPromotes a high level of customer serviceEnsures procedures are implemented and adhered to while protecting company assetsResponsible for monitoring and implementing legal compliance measures including site audit/inspectionsTroubleshoots and handles maintenance of store equipmentEnsure adequate gasoline levels as well as coordinate gasoline deliveriesMust be available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week unless on Leave of Absence or vacationKeep accurate fuel inventory records (red book), and report any excessive variationsMaintain accurate compliance binderConduct annual performance evaluationsImplement all Company promotional initiativesControl and be accountable for cash over/short to $200 per month or less and maintain inventory variations to .5% of sales or lessOther duties assigned by Territory Manager/Regional ManagerKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High School Diploma or equivalentPossess 2 or more years of supervisory management experience, gasoline industry preferredAbility to work unsupervisedPossess strong computer skillsMust be available via phone after regular business hours, weekends, and holidaysFlexibility to work weekend, holiday and/or evening shifts and assist other locations as neededMust have reliable transportation and valid driver's licenseAbility to communicate effectively with associates and guestsAbility to count, read, and write accurately to complete required paperworkAbility to operate and use all equipment necessary to operate the storeAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to lift/carry up to 25 poundsAbility to lift/carry up to 50 pounds on occasionAbility to freely access all areas of the store including, selling floor, stock area, and register areaAbility to reach, bend, twist, stoop, kneel and/or crouch during a shiftAbility to climb ladders/stairsWork in intermittent temperatures (i.e. cooler, outside, etc.)Attention to detailStrong decision-making skillsStrong financial management skillsSalary Range: $45,000 - $55,000
