    POSITION PURPOSE:

    The General Manager, Truck & Rail is responsible for providing leadership and overseeing the sales and operations to achieve operational and strategic objectives while ensuring efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources. Ensures all Briggs Truck & Rail standards comply with and are executed consistently with company direction.

    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Exemplify the Company's core value of safety. Committed to safety in everyday work practices and promotes a Safety First culture across their area of responsibility via leading by example.
  • Participate in the development of the organization's plans and programs as a strategic partner, bringing a business perspective as well as Truck & Rail business knowledge.
  • Execute the Truck & Rail's objectives through strategic planning, forecasting, sales resource planning, and budgeting.
  • Drive operational and sales excellence through efficiency and a high level of accountability.
  • Achieve financial objectives by driving the performance of financial operational plans and budgets.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and retain high-performing leaders to ensure ongoing professional development.
  • Build, strengthen, and maintain relationships with key customers and OEM partners to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term value.
  • Perform analysis of competition, trends, and corporate strengths/weaknesses, translating this data into sales proposals that will drive future growth.
  • Drive the development and documentation of tools, training, and supporting processes that lead to the consistent delivery of the best possible client experience.
  • Manage Truck & Rail new and used inventories to meet or exceed levels established by the Company.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding leadership and people development skills.
  • Strong financial acumen, including capital buying process, cognitive skills, problem analysis, decision making, and quantitative analysis.
  • Ability to identify root cause of problems and implement corrective action.
  • Ability to maintain the highest standards of professionalism in serving the customer.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Previous Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 10+ years' experience in similar industry with Sales and Operations background preferred.
  • 10+ years' experience in a similar integrated business with P&L responsibility to include sales/marketing/rental/service/parts, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing team members remotely.
  • Proven track record of building territory from scratch and continually finding and generating businesses from new customers.
  • Analytical and decisive decision maker with the ability to prioritize and communicate key objectives and next steps for achieving organizational goals to team.
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and motivational skills and a track record of hiring top talent.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Standing, walking, lifting, twisting, and bending on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • May require frequent travel up to 35% of the time.
