General Manager - Water/Wastewater Construction - Houston, TX
Gryphon Oakwood are working with a growing General Contractor, looking for a General Manager to manage Wastewater construction projects, to be based out of Houston, Texas. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the utility construction operations. You will oversee a diverse team, manage projects from inception to completion, and ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives, including revenue growth, cost reduction, and operational excellence.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Project Management: Oversee project execution, including estimating, scheduling, procurement, construction, and closeout.
- Financial Management: Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Safety and Compliance: Prioritize safety and environmental compliance, implementing robust safety programs and adhering to industry regulations.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding the company's market presence.
- Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and increase efficiency.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in the utility construction industry, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Deep understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- Excellent financial acumen and a focus on delivering results.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
