Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The machine operators will assist in the production process of a safe and high quality egg ingredient for further manufacturing by efficiently operating various equipment as well as preforming sanitation duties. Production's main responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting products and equipment for defects to ensure quality standards are met
- Moving finished product to warehousing area using appropriate equipment
- Visually ensuring the all components of the machines are operating correctly and efficiently
- Disassembling and cleaning the equipment used in the production process
- Performing all duties required to ensure U.S.D.A. inspection and quality guidelines are met (including record keeping requirements involving hand held tablets)
- Reassembling necessary processing equipment after sanitation
- Performing all other duties as required (and as assigned) by the supervisor to fill the needs of the plant
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively with team members and management
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments as assigned by Supervisors or Management
- Ability to work in a safe manner, as well as participate in the safety process of the company
- Ability to safely handle chemical solutions, eggs and egg products.
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with team members and management
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Ability to visually interpret instructions, operate machines and inspect parts
- Able to work on foot for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 55 lbs
- Ability to reach, stretch, bend and stoop throughout working shift
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs
- Ability to enter confined spaces (port-holes) in tanks to performs cleaning and inspection tasks (if applicable)
- Ability to work in various temperatures (varies from cool to moderate/hot) including occasional high humidity
PPE/Safety:
- Required during sanitation: chemical resistant gloves, aprons, face shields, rain suite, and boots
- Required in production areas: safety glasses, hair/beard nets, and hearing protection
- Position may require the use of fall protection harness and clip-on gas monitor (confined space entry)
All Shifts Available: 1st Shift: 5:50 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. 2nd Shift: 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. 3rd Shift:10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.
