Job Title: General Production Worker - PACKJob DescriptionFollow all SOP guidelines related to the jobPack items on the lines for shipmentEnsure items are not damaged, broken, etc.Correctly use ingredientsCheck weights and accurately record all lot and bag numbers usedPractice sanitation of the equipmentMaintain a clean work areaLift 50-55 lbs consistently at waist height, or shift weight side to sideWork in confined spaces due to the age of the building (such as spiral staircases)Work in hot environments in non-AC areasUtilize heights (catwalks above machines)Work schedule: Hiring (1) packager for days 6a-6p, (2) packagers for nights 6p-6aMonday - Wednesday with a potential for OT on ThursdayIn September, expect to move to 4 days all the time due to business$19/hour starting pay, with a $0.50 2nd shift and $0.75 3rd shift differential offeredGMP REQUIREMENTS: - This is a food facility, good manufacturing practices are required - Food allergies must be checked (concerns for those allergic to dairy, nuts, etc.) - No jewelry, fake nails, fake lashes, chains, watches, rings, etc., may be worn - Uniforms must be worn at all times - Steel-toed boots required (above the ankle) and must have them on day one - A lot of stairs and walking required due to the buildingHard SkillsMust be able to lift 50-55 lbs on a consistent basisMust be able and willing to train on forklift usage in the futurePrevious machine operation experience in manufacturingJob TypeThis is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 3 Month(s).Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in Defiance, Ohio.Work EnvironmentLarge, older style brick manufacturing building. Additional locations across the street as well. The facility produces dry powder items, like Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa mix.
