Be part of an active Facilities and Services team, working across campus performing a variety of work for the General Services area.Job Responsibilities: This position offers a variety of duties including moving items, preparing for events, performing locksmith work, setting up furniture, handling materials, delivering freight, doing general building maintenance, maintaining and inspecting fire extinguishers, and performing asbestos abatement. We provide abatement and locksmith training, and all the tools needed to perform your job.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Knowledge of:* Methods, practices, tools and equipment used for building maintenance* Master key system (preferred)* Door hardware and lock installation/repair (preferred)* Moving practices (preferred)* Event setup (preferred)Skill & Ability to:* Read and understand construction drawings and general plans* Use routine maintenance/construction hand tools* Demonstrate mechanical aptitude* Work safely* Operate equipment such as forklifts, general construction equipment, and hand moving equipment (preferred)* Communicate clearly and provide good customer service* Lift up to 50 pounds, bend, kneel, and climb* Work as a team member, with a positive attitude, be flexible and receptive to a variety of workRequired License: Valid driver's license, Asbestos certification within 1 year (required training provided).Comments: This position is classified as a Senior Building Maintenance Worker.
