Job Description:
Position Title: General Superintendent FSLA: Non-Exempt Location: Walla Walla, WaPosition Summary: The General Superintendent manages Superintendents on multiple job sites while providing insight to thought leadership in the continuous improvement of methodology, tools and approaches using fundamentals of TDX Power Services Project Management practices. Train and support Superintendents in their abilities to direct, manage, supervise, work with and coordinate the activities of the various trade groups and Subcontractors on the site to meet the work requirements as required by the project. Responsibilities include coordinating with the Superintendent that the work progresses according to the schedule, that materials and equipment are delivered to the site on time, that the subcontractor(s) are on the project when required and progress in accordance with the schedule, and that the activities of the various workers do not interfere with one another. The General Superintendent will normally work with the Superintendent to manage the tools needed and assists with the coordination between the subcontractor(s), in house workforce and material suppliers. The General Superintendent will make certain that ALL work being completed under the Project Superintendent is done in a safe manner. General Superintendent will be required to travel to projects on a consistent basis during project startups, monthly check-ins and during critical project timelines.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate with Superintendents to ensure the project meets the schedule.
  • Follow up that the material, subcontractor(s) and supplier's requirements needed by the Superintendent have been coordinated with the Project Manager.
  • Inspect the Superintendent's jobsite and the work of each trade and confirm that not only the quality of the work is up to standard, but that the work is being built in accordance with the plans and specification on a scheduled site visit.
  • Ensure that communication between the Superintendent and the Project Manager for the project maintains the required schedule by organizing, planning, monitoring, and inspecting work.
  • Analyze and address daily progress reports for work performed and completed by the Superintendent.
  • Check that the Superintendent maintains and enforces safety regulations and building code requirements.
  • Coordinate weekly safety meeting topics for the superintendents with in-house trade staff and subcontractor(s).
  • Capability to step into project superintendent's role to cover for vacations and/or superintendent training
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 15 years Heavy Civil Construction experience.
  • Minimum 15 years Federal Contractor experience
  • Experience in varied Heavy Civil types of projects
  • Specialized knowledge in heavy equipment utilization and application
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations
  • 30 hr OSHA certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft computer applications
  • High attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Strong Client communication skills
  • Ability to teach the processes required by a Project Superintendent
