* Responsible for field construction operations within assigned discipline or area. * Create and drive project schedules, solving critical paths and communicating roadblocks * Determines workforce requirements. Coordinates established area operational plans. Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft. Monitors work activities and ensures the quality of work performed and cleanliness expectations * Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation. * Approves craft time records using established automated tools. * Prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast. * Monitors the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules. * Coordinates activities with other disciplines or areas to ensure seamless integration and execution of work. * Employ a can-do attitude, quickly working through challenges with all stakeholders while proactively seeking creative solutions * Schedule and lead quality control and site safety inspections. * Facilitate inspections with AHJs to ensure timely use spaces and systems * Lead and manage a team of mechanical maintenance technicians in executing routine and preventive maintenance tasks on various mechanical systems and equipment. * Provide oversite and planning strategies with general contractors for mechanical installation of packages during construction phases. * Work with contractors and vendor representatives on technical queries and installation scopes on all specialty equipment packages * Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to develop and implement Preservation and Maintenance plans for all onsite assets. * Oversight of all onsite preservation activities and implementation, including working with contractors * Contractor surveillance on equipment installation and reporting, including hour tracking and daily reports * Conduct regular assessments of mechanical equipment to identify maintenance and preservation needs as project progressWe are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. * Engineering bachelor's degree * Owner side experience (must have contractor side too) * Good for a flexible work schedule! * 10-15 years of relevant industry experience (heavy industrial, oil & gas, complex chemical plants) o Can come from a Multidisciplinary background o Come from the trade: a ton of experience with a variety of systems -- pumps, fans, pressors, chillers, boilers, sawmills, compressed air system, high pressure steam boiler o The more complex systems the better. * Lifting and setting heavy equipment, rotating equipment * Previous experience on $500M+ projects * Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills are a must * Contractor side experience, out in the field * Industrial, refinery, oil and gas industry background * Ability to read, interpret, and manage changes to: o Drawings and blueprints
