Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times per MSHA and Vulcan standards.Operate Heavy Equipment. Safely operate off-highway equipment to transport raw materials and/or finished products throughout the facility safely and efficiently.Inspect Equipment. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and accurately complete daily mobile equipment reports and other relevant documentation.Maintain Equipment. Maintain equipment performance by checking vehicle fluid levels, adding correct fluids as necessary, and assisting in performing other minor maintenance.Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings. Monitor the plant and operations and report any necessary maintenance or adjustments that may be required to ensure safety.Maintain Cash Fund. Maintain cash funds accurately and report any discrepancies. Handle cash sales by collecting cash, checks, or credit card transactions.Maintain Office. Maintain the office neatly and professionally. Answer phones and handle office duties and projects as requested.Prepare and Operate Scales. Prepare scales for daily use. Work with Plant Admin Support Supervisors to troubleshoot and repair issues. Operate the truck scales and generate correct tickets for the customers. Weigh and record incoming materials such as gasoline, diesel fuel, explosives, and scrap sales.Provide Excellent Customer Service. Greet customers professionally and politely. Communicate clearly with customers to bill transactions correctly. Listen to customer issues and complaints and work to resolve them through communication with the sales/dispatch department. Direct customers to piles to receive their requested product.Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.Skills You'll Need:Experience. Previous experience operating heavy construction equipment is preferred.Knowledge of Best Practices. Knowledge of general principles and practices of operating and servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred.Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.Communication Skills. Must have effective written and oral communication skills.Time Management Skills. Must have organizational skills with a focus on the prioritization of workload. Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, dependable, timely, and reliable.Technology Skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, Oracle Business Environment, and other software packages relevant to the position.What You'll Like About Us:Hourly Range. The hourly range for this role is between $21.63 and $27.27. This range does not include our discretionary bonus or equity package.
