Pay Information $245 to $250 per hour About The Position Location: South of Richmond, VA Dates: Starting February 2025, one week per month - anticipated to be ongoing throughout 2025 Position Overview: Seeking a Board-Certified General Surgeon for locum coverage starting February 2025, with ongoing opportunities. This role is required due to a shortage within the department. The ideal candidate will provide surgical services, perform trauma surgeries, and manage a range of general surgery procedures in a hospital-based setting. The medical center is a Trauma Level III facility, with a robust surgical team. Practice Setting: Hospital-BasedHours: 24 hour shifts (looking for minimum 5 shifts/month)Documentation System/EMR: EPIC Key Responsibilities: Perform a variety of general surgery procedures, including but not limited to:Trauma SurgeryAneurysm repairsCholecystectomyNissen FundoplicationHernioplastyUpper, Lower, Sigmoidoscopy & ColonoscopyLaser procedures, Chest Wall/Pleural Procedures, Chest Tube InsertionsCentral Line Insertion, PA Catheter Placement, Ventilation ManagementAV Shunt Placement, Abdominal, Peripheral, Vascular Access DevicesCollaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including ER physicians and trauma specialists.Provide high-quality care to an adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population.Operate in one of 9 operating rooms and manage trauma cases coming from the ER.
