BAE Systems is looking for an experienced, self-motivated Software Architect. The qualified candidate will suport the design and execution of a platform for generative AI and business transformation. The candidate will direct software architecture design and development, and influence Systems Engineering, Cybersecuity, UI, Dev Sec Ops, and AI Ops functions. The Software Architect will define and influence enterprise level software architecture and best practices for software development. The qualified candidate will participate in mission working groups, review the outputs of systems analysis, and drive systems and software architecture decisions and design trade studies ensuring the chosen technical approach addresses mission needs. The candidate will have frequent opportunities to exchange ideas with customers and partners. Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely. US citizenship with an active Secret clearance10+ years of software and backend developmentStrong software architecture, design, and development experience using JAVA and RESTful servicesExperience developing RESTful microservices using JAVA Spring BootKnowledge of Containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and Automated DevSecOps pipeline tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Bitbucket)The ability to engage constructively with peers and technical lead to communicate the technical approach, trade-offs, and technical decisionsExperience integrating across companies delivering software componentsAbility to analyze and solve complex problemsExperience with vector databases, large language models, and retrieval augmented generationExperience with AI Ops and AI development pipelines.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills 10+ years demonstrated technical software engineering leadership5+ years of software architecture & designExperience with front-end development (Angular, React, JavaScript)Understanding/experience in Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google, IBM, Oracle)Experience with Kafka, Elasticsearch, Redis, ArgoCDExperience with 3rd party application integrationLead software, systems, and/or software architect on a government contractExperience in an Agile development environmentExperience with Government Operational Systems, including ATO processesPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
