Job Description:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Generator Technician will be to accurately troubleshoot, repair, and diagnose both routine maintenance and emergency services on a variety of state-of-the-art critical equipment systems such as: diesel generators, gaseous generators, and so on.You will need to show you have troubleshooting and repair experience on power generation equipment, including problems with Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), and generator controls AC and DC.You will need to show you have the communication skills to make repair recommendations to customers and order appropriate parts to complete repairs.Every day you will travel to customer job sites to repair these units in a company provided vehicle. At times, if you are close enough to home you can drive home that night. This is a Road Warrior position and if you are 2-3 hours from home and need to be back in that area again the next day, you will stay overnight. You will also be on a rotating 24/7 on call shift that works weekends, any weekend work is overtime.You will also need good written communication skills to process required paperwork within deadlines.You will need to be responsible to maintain part inventory of service truck and have experience with the following:- Changing of engine fluids and filters- Engine repairs (wide variety of diesel and gas engines)- Electrical and control diagnosis- Load-bank testing/certifications- 24hr. emergency response- Utilize measuring equipment including multimeters, ammeters and megohmmeters for thediagnosis and repair of equipment- Assist lower-level Field Service Technicians in completing work assignments as necessary- Maintain a clean and safe work environment- Perform all work in accordance with established quality standards and safety procedures$33.65 - $36.06/hour base overtime eligible, and a great benefits plan.
