Job Description:
The School of STEM and Health Professions at Jefferson Community College is seeking part-time Geology adjunct instructors to fill a day lecture teaching Planet Earth and an online section of Astronomy.
Requirements:
Instructors teaching for the School of STEM and Health Professions should have a master's degree in geology, science education or related field. In extraordinary cases, a bachelor's degree may be sufficient to fill a vacancy.
Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.

This is a pooled search. Jefferson Community College is seeking to develop a pool of qualified geology applicants. Adjunct applications will be kept on file for three years to fill part-time teaching vacancies as they occur.
The College determines the need for adjunct instructors based on planned courses each term; it is not possible to predict the need for future semesters. When an opening does occur, finalists for adjunct positions are contacted for interviews.
Level A - $665/credit hour
Level B - $785/credit hour after teaching 6 semesters at Jefferson.
