Primary Purpose
Provide assistance to instructor and students during field trips and scheduled activities associated with a specific class or classes. This job description is intended to outline the most common activities to be performed, but could include other duties as assigned.
Essenatial Duties and Responsibilities
+ Responsible for driving COCC vehicle to, from, and during field trips.
+ Assist in leading student groups in field activities in related subject area.
+ Ensure compliance with safety procedures.
+ Perform other duties as assigned as it relates to the purpose of the position.

+ Able to safely drive large passenger vans, including on gravel / dirt roads

+ Able to work independently engaging in problem solving and resolution, and skillfully organize and perform multiple tasks within expected timelines.

+ Willingness to travel at various hours and locations, as required.
Ergonomic Requirements
Able to set a work schedule or be flexible with work hours depending on nature of work or events that are scheduled; may include evenings or weekends. Work may be performed in an ordinary office or outdoor setting. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to function effectively in an outdoor environment engaged in work of primarily a physical nature with the ability to move in potentially challenging environments for extended periods. The employee is regularly required to drive a large passenger van in a safe manner, which may involve sitting for many hours. Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds may occur.

Minimum Requirements
Education:
+ High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
+ Coursework or experience in outdoor leadership, field sciences, or equivalent.
License:
+ Current valid Oregon drivers license or ability to obtain prior to scheduled activity date; must be able to gain approval for driving according to COCC Driving Policy, (
Certifications:
+ Current First Aid or CPR Certification
