What You'll Do
* Assisting with performing and/or recommending lab testing
* Assisting with foundation analysis and recommendations
* Drafting boring logs and location diagrams
* Scheduling of drill rigs for geotechnical projects
* Obtaining utility clearance for subsurface explorations
* Assisting with determining appropriate subsurface exploration program and preparing drilling instructions
* Performing boring and test pit layouts by both conventional surveying and Global Positioning Systems (GPS)
* Classifying soil samples
* Performing hand augers to obtain subsurface information and soil samples
* Observing foundation or ground improvement installations

What We're Looking For
* Actively pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or related degree
* Interest in how structures are supported and a desire to think outside the box
* Previous internship experience would go a long way
* Must be able to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites - Mileage will be reimbursed
* Position requires carrying 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height
