ABOUT THE POSITION

The Development Department is charged with funding the Innocence Project's work by cultivating donors and prospects, soliciting donations, and stewarding those donors across the department's various revenue lines which include individuals, foundations, and corporate entities. The Gift Processing & Engagement Associate is responsible for the recording and acknowledgement of the Innocence Project's constituents' data and donations using Salesforce. This position works closely with the Development and Finance teams. Primarily, the Gift Processing & Engagement Associate ensures efficiency and timeliness in processing donor information and donations using best practices to maintain optimal data integrity. This position plays a key role in maintaining Salesforce integrity and in maintaining donor communication and satisfaction through timely donor acknowledgement. The Gift Processing & Engagement Associate will also help respond to telephone calls and emails from constituents and staff as needed/requested regarding gift matters.

This full-time position reports to the Director of Data Systems and Analytics. This is a full-time position thatrequires no travel.

While the Innocence Project has supported remote work throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we arecurrently committed to a hybrid workplace with mandatory three days per week in-office. The number ofrequired in-office days is subject to change.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and has a keen attention to detail. They are a team player andexcellent communicator with various audiences, both within and outside the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - GIFT PROCESSING? Process all check, stock, and credit card gifts to the Innocence Project? Determine appropriate gift designations by reviewing accompanying documentation prior to entry,and alert appropriate staff to special gift situations.? Track donor activities and correspondence in Salesforce? Maintain filing systems offline and in Salesforce? Create and maintain gift backup for annual audit? Confirm and administer matching gifts? Entering pledges and pending gifts as directed by gift officers? Assist donors in updating payment information and recurring donations

DONOR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND INQUIRIES? Ensure timely and accurate mailing of acknowledgement letters on a weekly basis? With Donor Relations and Stewardship Coordinator, coordinate special communications whenacknowledging gifts (determining when special acknowledgements are required)? Assist with annual tax letter mailing preparation? Field telephone calls and emails from constituents and staff, and make return calls or emails toconstituents and staff as needed/requested regarding gift matters.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE? High School Diploma or GED, Bachelors' degree preferred, plus 2-3 years related worked experience,or equivalent work experience? Prior experience with data entry preferred? Prior nonprofit experience not required? Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
