Job Description:

The Girl Leadership Program Manager is responsible for supervising and facilitating various program initiatives, such as Older Girl Leadership program, GSHPA on Wheels, Large Girl events, and Outdoor programs. Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate adult program training needs, create and deliver training to meet demand.
  • Ensure Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) is included with program curriculum.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for girls and staff by adhering to the GSUSA Safety Checkpoints.
  • Ensure timely notification of management regarding areas of improvement, concern, and risk.
  • Manage the development, planning, and implementation of strategies to grow Girl experiences.
  • Oversee the development of Large Girl Events for conformance to program strategy, plan, and schedule.
  • Ensure growth and quality experience for girls working to achieve Highest Awards as well as drive participation in other national awards and service opportunities.
  • Oversee GSHPA on Wheels program: develop and maintain program utilization plan to benefit girls in our 30-County footprint.
  • Create and oversee curriculum for non-camp related outdoor programming.
  • Oversee implementation of council's developing travel pathway option for girl members including process and vetting of trip and high-risk event applications.
  • Ensure assessment of quality, safety, and adherence and delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience by outside partnering organizations.
  • Ensure volunteers have appropriate resources and support to provide high-quality, relevant participation options based on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience for all girl members.
  • Evaluate, create and deliver girl programming training for volunteers.
  • Keep abreast of national and local trends and issues in the community affecting all program delivery, as well as any GSUSA changes, trends, and requirements related to the Girl Scout program.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic alliance with volunteer base as well as community relationships that support outdoor experiences for girls and adults.
  • Effectively enforce established council policies and procedures.
  • Provide professional, quality customer service to all customers (members, volunteers, staff, and other community contacts).
  • Handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Girl Scout mission by representing GSHPA in a positive and professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of council-wide initiatives and/or cross-functional teams to further the mission of GSHPA.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, or equivalent experience required.
  • Five years of experience in youth management and program experience required.
  • Three years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certified by a nationally recognized provider.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt well to changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
  • Pass and maintain required background clearances.
  • Work with individuals of diverse background and ages in a professional manner.
  • Use sound judgment and critical thinking skill when decision making.
  • Demonstrate teambuilding skills and ability to function as a positive and active team member.
  • Work a flexible schedule, to include nights and weekends, as needed.
  • Travel throughout the council, as required.
  • Efficiently operate standard office equipment.
  • Lift/carry 25 lbs.
  • Sitting, standing, or walking for a moderate period of time is required.
  • Physical ability to respond to situations requiring first aid and to assist participants in an emergency.
