Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the development of innovative processes and technologies.
- Define manufacturing processes for small batch custom materials and parts.
- Manage critical projects, including capital projects, equipment installations, and upgrades.
- Develop, improve, and implement robust production methods and business processes.
- Apply sound engineering principles and proven statistical methods to analyze data and improve existing processes.
- Partner with Quality Assurance to monitor yields and implement continuous improvement programs.
- Evaluate, implement, and support automated inspection systems and equipment.
- Communicate with customers to understand their needs and specifications, and provide technical sales support while resolving customer issues.
- Oversee work, guide, and support the professional development of team members, including Engineering Techs and early-career Engineers.
- Provide hands-on technical support on the manufacturing floor.
- Collaborate with design and mechanical engineers to design, build, and implement fixtures that support manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing problems impacting quality or cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure all process documentation is accurate, in place, and up-to-date, including process routers, work instructions, and preventive maintenance requirements.
- Conduct on-site quality checks and participate in problem-solving activities to ensure high-quality standards.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline (Master's preferred)
- Over 10 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering
- Expertise in forming and finishing processes is a plus
- Strong knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Exceptional problem-solving and leadership abilities
- Experience in the semiconductor industry
- Background in glass and/or polymer manufacturing
- Proven experience in managing and developing technical teams
- Proficiency with ERP systems
