The Need

For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM's Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Global Director, People Analytics and HRIS.

The Global Director, People Analytics and HRIS is responsible for leading the strategy, implementation, administration and maintenance of IJM's Human Resource information system (Workday) and leading people analytics initiatives. This role ensures that the HRIS supports IJM's HR and Enterprise objectives by providing accurate and timely data, improving HR processes, and enhancing the overall employee experience. The Global Director will collaborate with various stakeholders to develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy that drives business decisions and improves organizational performance. This position will manage 1-2 HRIS Analysts, own HR Information Systems and processes, and be responsible for enterprise-wide HR People Data Analytics.

This position is based in the Washington, DC area and is available to be hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays). It reports to the Vice President, HR Operations and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.

Responsibilities:

People Analytics

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive people analytics strategy to support data-driven decision making across the organization.

  • Lead the design and delivery of HR metrics, dashboards, and reports that provide insights into key HR and business Trends collaborate with HR and business leaders to identify critical workforce metrics and KPIs.

  • Analyze complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that inform HR strategies and initiatives.

  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership to drive business decisions and improve organizational performance.

  • Ensure data privacy and compliance with relevant regulations in all analytical activities stay current with industry trends and best practices in people analytics and HR technology.

HRIS Management

  • Oversees and maintains optimal function of the HRIS, which may include installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrade to applications, systems, and modules.

  • Oversee the implementation, configuration and maintenance of Workday (HRIS) ensuring it meets the needs of the organization.

  • Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRIS users.

  • Lead a team of Workday HR Analysts, providing guidance and support.

  • Collaborate with HR leaders to identify needed improvements and enhancements to existing information services and databases, and implements solutions.

  • Train HR teams in HRIS utilization and maximization.

  • Collaborate with other departments to understand business needs and translate them into system requirements, and collaborate closely with GTS (Global Technology Solutions) team.

  • Ensure data integrity, security, and accuracy within the HRIS by developing and implementing data governance policies and procedures, coordinate system upgrades, and own HRIS enhancements ensuring minimal disruption to HR operations. Ensures system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.

  • Lead the team in developing and maintaining HRIS documentation, including user guides, process workflows, and system configurations.

  • Routinely conduct audits and assessment of all HR business processes to ensure they are serving the organization.

  • Manage the team to provide training and support to HR staff and end users on Workday functionality and best practices.

  • Manage permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for HR services users.

  • Compiles complex data reports, summaries, and logs for senior executives and HR staff.

  • Serves as lead representative and liaison between HR, information services, external vendors, and other stakeholders for HRIS design and implementation projects.

Strategic Planning

  • Work with the VP of HR Operations and the Chief People Officer to develop and execute the HRIS and People Analytics strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.

  • Partner with GTS to lead HR technology projects including system upgrades, implementations, and integrations with other business systems.

  • Partner with external vendors and consultants to ensure the successful delivery of HRIS solutions.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements and efficiencies.

  • Serve as lead representative and liaison between HR, Information Services, external vendors, and other stakeholders for HR database design and implementation projects.

General Tasks

  • Participate in IJM's community of spiritual formation.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, information technology, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in HRIS management, with at least 6 years of experience working with Workday.

  • Proven experience in leading people analytics initiatives and translating data into actionable insights.

  • Professional certification (eg. Workday Pro) strongly preferred.

Technical Competencies

  • Excellent understanding of HR processes and data management principles.

  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering HRIS projects on time and within budget.

  • Proficiency in data visualization tools and techniques.

  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels in a multicultural global setting.

  • Ability to keep information confidential.
