Position Summary
The Office of Global Education is seeking a study abroad coordinator. This position will support graduate and undergraduate outgoing students in their study abroad experiences. This position will provide competitive and engaging educational study abroad programming and international experiences that promote student success and retention. Responsibilities include the development of cultural competence skills training programs, coordination of study abroad and global health applications, and recruiting and supporting student needs while abroad.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
* Serve as front-line reception (in-person and phone) for the Office of Global Education.
* Advise students on Study Abroad Opportunities and Course Offerings.
* Assist with study abroad program administration and website updates.
* Assist with initial study abroad advising and information sessions.
* Plan and execute Office of Global Education events, including bookings, marketing, and on-site management.
* Create and disseminate marketing and informational material for global opportunities/student success.
* Schedule and participate in class visits, virtually and/or in-person, to provide information about the Office of Global Education and study abroad opportunities to students.
* Represent the Office of Global Education and present at Admissions events throughout the year.
* Plan and execute specific social media campaigns, collaborating with Global Ambassadors and work-study.
* Liaise with the University Service-Learning office, Student Engagement, Center for Teaching & Learning, and Student Success for program development and management.
* Develop cultural competence programming for outgoing students and faculty.
* Create new program applications/brochures in Terra Dotta and update existing programs.
* Manage or delegate student applications, payments, and required documentation for program participation.
* Manage study abroad faculty leader documents for travel and safety training review.
* Manage study abroad program preparation with outside vendors.
* Manage databases, reports, and budgets.
* Office management duties.
* Provide support to the Global Ambassador Program through training, meetings, and activities.
* Supervise global ambassadors.
* Conduct international site visits as needed.
* Liaise with Dingle Campus leadership on student success program creation and other student success efforts and programming.
* Other duties/projects as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Attributes
* Bachelor's Degree required.
* Study abroad and/or other international experience required.
* Candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and handle multiple ongoing projects simultaneously.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation skills.
* Ability to provide excellent customer service to diverse constituents.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ease with technology. Demonstrated experience using MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok).

May require evening hours and/or weekend hours- during final exams week.
