What we want
The Global Engagement Communications Manager will serve on the Global Engagement leadership team and will be responsible for developing and directing the overall marketing and branding strategy for the department. The Global Engagement Communications Manager will accomplish this through effective project and event management, internal and external marketing and communication efforts, community and alumni engagement, and student outreach.

Responsibilities
Strategy
* Develops, implements, and manages the overall marketing, branding, and outreach strategy for the Department of Global Engagement.
* Creates and monitors annual plans and timelines for marketing, communications, public relations, and event programming.
* Establishes brand standards, guidance, and templates for the department and ensures adherence to university branding policies.
* Develops a clearand impactful social media strategy that conveys Global Engagement's voice and brand and tells a compelling story.
* Analyzes and maintains a budget for marketing projects, outreach initiatives, and events.
Project Management
* Coordinates the creation and updating of creative assets and publications that effectively communicate programs and services of the department.
* Coordinates the creation of digital media such as videos, blogs, podcasts, etc., that tell the Global Engagement story in an engaging way.
* Develops and oversees a project request system utilized by departmental staff.
* Maintains inventory and coordinates purchasing of promotional and branded merchandise.
Engagement and Outreach
* Manages the planning and execution of critical programming such as the study abroad fair, Global Welcome Party, International Education Week, graduation recognition ceremonies, and other on-campus events.
* Assists with the planning of high-level international delegation visits and the International Advisory Board bi-annual meetings.
* Manages the planning and execution of community-based programming and events (i.e. Maroon and White Night).
* Coordinates efforts to improve engagement with former international students and alumni who studied abroad.
* Serves on university committees and working groups that align with the department's marketing, branding, and outreach strategy.
Communication
* Writes and distributes news posts and press releases.
* Develops content for social media engagement.
* Assists the Associate Vice President for Global Engagement with departmental- or university-wide communication and presentations.
* Coordinates internal departmental communication.
* Actively pitches media opportunities to various media outlets and key stakeholders.
* Responds to media requests.
Supervision
* Directly supervises and leads team development of full-time staff and student employees.
* Works with administrators, staff, and students across the department and University to promote and implement Global Engagement's marketing and branding strategy.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in applicable field
* Five years of communications or closely related experience including two years of related supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications
* Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint systems.
* Knowledge of survey tools (i.e. Qualtrics, Microsoft forms, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Effective leadership and supervision skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
* Ability to manage multiple complex projects and work cooperatively with others
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
* Proficiency in design software applications (i.e. InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
* Proficiency in social media strategy and leveraging user-generated content, as well as developing original, engaging content.
* Knowledge of website content management tools (i.e. Kentico, Cascade, WordPress, etc.)
