The Global Franchise Director for Connectivity and Disease Diagnostics will lead the strategic vision and execution for monitoring our patients outside the clinic and our implantable loop recording global business.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Drive the Connectivity strategy for all Merlin assets in conjunction with cross-functional partners including the development and execution of new service strategies.
- Lead the development and transition to innovative cloud-based solutions and innovative business models.
- Develop strategic vision for the disease DX business and develop additional revenue stream options for disease management.
Thought Leadership:
- Create clear, compelling, data-driven recommendations and deliverables that support annual marketing initiatives using market research and insights from analytics.
- Review competitive best practices in digital/services marketing, create benchmarks, and establish development roadmaps to capture near-term opportunities and long-term success.
Operational Excellence:
- Provide strategic guidance and direction for teams within Connectivity/Merlin/Services Marketing, including marketing analytics, sales enablement systems, and platform innovation.
- Oversee the development of digital properties, including apps, websites, email, social campaigns, etc.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure seamless integration and minimal disruption during the migration process.
- Build key internal and external partnerships to enhance customer experiences and optimize digital business support.
- Extract value from data through oversight of data audits, aggregation, enhancements, and statistical analysis.
- Participate in the Abbott Corporate Digital & Social Services Board and support the development of corporate digital content strategy and technology systems.
- Drive down Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by establishing appropriate functionality to avoid silos and reduce redundant capabilities through rationalization and enterprise reference architecture standards.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of high-performing individuals, providing both informal and formal coaching to align with organizational objectives.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, especially IT, and global, regional, and local markets, field sales force, technology, legal, regulatory, medical affairs, public affairs, executive management, creative departments, vendors, and healthcare professionals.
- R&D Development: Drive the research and development of the connectivity portfolio focusing on the transition to the cloud. Collaborate with IT and R&D to ensure innovative solutions meet market needs, regulatory requirements and data privacy/security standards globally.
- Launch Excellence: Oversee the execution of launch plans to ensure successful global product launches. Develop and implement best practices for launch excellence, including cross-functional coordination, market readiness, and post-launch evaluation.
- Upstream and Downstream Activities: Manage both upstream and downstream marketing activities, ensuring a cohesive strategy from product development through to market launch and beyond.
- Global and Corporate Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with global teams to ensure alignment and successful implementation of marketing strategies across different regions. Participate in the Abbott Corporate Digital & Social services board

Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience with progressive responsibility in medical devices, healthcare, diagnostics, brand management, or healthcare marketing.
- Proven ability to interact directly with executive leadership to drive strategy and investment decisions.
- Strong strategic marketing acumen and experience in leading upstream and/or downstream marketing functions.
- Extensive service marketing/IT project management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience prioritizing and managing project initiatives across multiple functions and/or business units.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Experience and proficiency with P&L and budget management.
- Ability to travel approximately 40%, including internationally.
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Market Development, or a related field. Master's preferred.
The base pay for this position is $143,300.00 – $286,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
